Darth Vader Cookie

Baking for the Rebel Alliance

Maybe you are making cakes, or eating cakes made by someone else, this weekend, when you think to yourself that it just is not as exciting as it could be. Maybe it would be better if, say, you were able to eat a cookie in the shape of Jedi Master Yoda, or have a cookie with Darth Vader’s face mask printed across the top in icing? Well, my delightful nerdy friends, now is the time to rejoice – for you can experience these things now, in your own home.

A great collection of cookie cutters are currently available from Williams-Sonoma – you can choose from Chewbacca, R2D2, C3-PO, an ewok, Yoda, a stormtrooper, Darth Vader, and Boba Fett. The cutters are made of a durable springy plastic and are loaded with a handle to help you make the shapes. The moulded shapes will then create faces and indentations in the cookie to really make the likeness of your favourite characters, which you can fill with the correctly coloured icing. Or, if you prefer, make a purple Yoda and a psychedelic Chewbacca – you know you want to!

Or if you don’t like cookies, perhaps you are a cupcake fan? Come on now, you can admit it, everybody is! There’s a very easy way to decorate your favourite flavour of cupcake with a Star Wars theme – just get the cupcake stencil set and you can choose to make it Darth Vader, a stormtrooper, or Yoda – or even just the Star Wars title words! Shake icing powder over the conveniently shaped trays and remove them to leave the correct shapes behind.

It appears that the rumours that have been circulating for many years have finally been proved to be true – the Dark Side really do have cookies. The good news is that everyone else does too, so there is no need to discriminate.
